Description
Join us for a relaxing summer afternoon of creativity, connection, and making together in the beautiful garden of Koningshof Utrecht.
On Sunday, July 5th, we're transforming the garden into a vibrant creative space where artists, makers, hobbyists, and curious beginners can gather, learn new skills, and enjoy an inspiring community atmosphere.
When purchasing your ticket, you'll choose one of the following experiences:
Linocut Printing Workshop by Harman
In this hands-on linocut workshop, you’ll be guided through the full process, from your first sketch to your final printed work. We’ll start with a short introduction to linocut, covering the basic tools, materials, and carving techniques. You’ll then develop a design and transfer it onto an A6-sized block. You'll carve your block step by step with guidance from the maker. Once your block is ready, you’ll learn how to ink it and print by hand. You will leave with your finished print and a solid understanding of the linocut process.
🌿 Make Your Own Kokedama Workshop by YouPlant Amsterdam
Discover the art of Kokedama with Fabrizia from Youplant Amsterdam. Learn about the history and tradition behind this unique Japanese planting technique while creating your own kokedama from scratch. You will shape the soil ball, wrap it in moss, and explore different ways to display your finished piece. Along the way, Fabrizia will share practical care tips to help your kokedama thrive at home. Leave with your handmade creation and enjoy a creative, mindful, and relaxing experience. Workshop will run for 1.5 hours, leaving plenty of time afterward to relax, connect with other makers, and enjoy drinks and snacks in a creative and inspiring atmosphere.
🎨 Postcards from the Garden, Botanical Watercolor Workshop by Raleu
A cozy and beginner-friendly watercolor workshop inspired by the garden atmosphere of Koningshof. You will paint your own botanical postcards with step-by-step guidance from Esra / Raleu. You’ll explore soft flowers, leaves, herbs, and small garden details such as bees or butterflies. The workshop is suitable for beginners, but also enjoyable for people who have painted before. Each participant will leave with 2–3 handmade watercolor postcards to keep, frame, or send to someone they love.
✨ Bring Your Own Art/Craft Project
Already working on a creative project? Bring your knitting, sketchbook, embroidery, writing project, collage materials, or any other craft and enjoy dedicated creative time alongside fellow makers in a welcoming environment.
Throughout the afternoon, participants will have the opportunity to connect with others, explore the different creative stations, and enjoy the inspiring atmosphere of the garden.
