Overview
Create your own handmade ceramic Christmas ornaments in this cosy, beginner-friendly workshop. Learn the basics of hand-building with clay, shape and decorate your ornaments, and make a set of 3–4 unique pieces to use on your tree or give as gifts. No experience needed.
About Workshop
In this hands-on ceramic workshop, you’ll learn the basics of hand-building with clay while creating your own set of Christmas ornaments.
We’ll start with a short introduction to clay, basic hand-building techniques, and the materials we’ll be using.You’ll then shape 3-4 ornaments from clay.
You can;
- Use our Christmas-themed cutters to create shapes such as Christmas trees, gingerbread people, or stars
- Adapt and personalise the available shapes, or
- Create your own ornament shapes freely by hand
Once your ornaments are shaped, you’ll attach their hanging hooks and prepare them for decorating.
You’ll then paint your ornaments using underglazes, choosing your own colours, patterns, and details to make each piece unique.
At the end of the workshop, your ornaments will stay with us to dry completely before being fired in a ceramic kiln at high temperature.
Once they are ready, usually within 7-10 days, we’ll notify you so you can collect your finished ornaments from Harman Shop & Atelier. If you prefer, they can also be sent to you by post for an additional shipping fee.
You’ll leave the workshop with an introduction to hand-building ceramics and a handmade set of Christmas ornaments created completely by you.
